Captured Shell Cranium
I capture my moss thoughts
inside this tight shell cranium.
Do poets expose their brains?
Do poets keep their thoughts
inside pressure steamed cooker?
Do I have to express myself
in a form someone understands?
Maybe I’m square lakes
inside a cave and pour out
like sugar streams from a jar.
I can’t seem to push out
the space between thoughts
and feelings.
Am I ruptured, solitary timber?
Release me cave river
emerge me from this dark-
let me fall.

"The poem Captured Shell Cranium by Michael Lee Johnson is very depressing and should not be in the uplifting poem category. I suffer depression and it made me feel very melancholic. The opposite of why I'm on your site!"
Editor: Hullo Jude - thank
you for your comment and we all wish you happiness and peace which is indeed the
reason this site is here - to be a safe and positive haven for all. "Captured Shell Cranium"
is showcased at the Bright Light Cafe because, to me, it expressed the
potential joy that all creative artists are capable of experiencing by releasing
their tight hold over their imagination and letting it flow like a river - a
waterfall of inspiration is often the result - it is like a fall into sublime
grace. I am sorry that it does not speak the same message to you,
Jude. Perhaps the previous graphic at the base of the poem was inappropriate for the message the poem
means to convey. Your message motivated me to change the painting, Jude - hopefully this
has enhanced the positivity of the
Michael's words for you and everyone else. I truly hope you will find the uplifting entertainment you desire
throughout the rest of the Cafe.

"Great Canadian poet now in Usa. We miss him he was a budding talent while in Canada."
