One
more time I’d like to see her face,
To share a quick ‘Hi” and a moment of grace.
We’d talk like the years were all but a day.
We’d be like we were – like children at play.
One
more time I’d like to see her grin,
To remember we care, remember we’re kin,
To wash away words that were never once said,
Then return from the paths where our silence had led.
One
more time I want us to cuddle
And work our ways out of our darn silly muddle.
We’d laugh at how pointless was our wasted time
Then drink til we dropped to pay for our crime.
One
more time I’d just like to say,
"Megan, my friend, what’s happ’ning today?"
We’d be wicked, and fun, and innocent too.
The sun would be out. The sky would
be blue
One
more time we’d be happy and young,
The rest of our lives not yet begun.
We’d live on forever; you’d not go away,
Leaving me lost, the sky all gone grey.
One
more time I’m missing you now
Puzzled, confused, still wondering how,
Why did it happen, why didn’t I know?
And damn it all, Megan, why did you go?
One
more time, we just had to meet,
To make our true story somehow complete.
I’m older. You’re younger. It should have been me.
Another example of how screwed life can be.
One
more time Megan, I send you my love,
While I’m sure that you party way up above.
You’re laughing. I know.
I can feel it in mime.
You’re not worried. You know.
There’ll be one more time.
