The Wrong Stuff
I was born a male
Which makes me a guy
I got an “X” from my mom
And from my dad got a “Y”.
Because of this fact,
It might sound quite sad,
No matter what I say or do
I make my wife mad.
Like most people I know
I don’t want to cause trouble.
And I have absolutely no desire
To burst anyone’s bubble.
So why is it so,
That whatever I say
Seems to always come out
In just the wrong way?
When she has a problem,
That causes torment,
I want to solve,
She wants to vent.
I know most husbands
With the same problem are gripped.
So maybe all women
Could write us a script.
But even with that
I still think we’d find
By the time we’ve said it
They’ve already changed their mind.
I guess I’ll keep going
Making my wife mad
But there is one thing
That I am truly glad.
It makes me feel safe,
This knowledge I stress
I know my wife won’t shoot me,
‘Cause she’d have to clean up the mess.
