I knew you were waiting.
When I unlocked and opened the front door,
I smelled your faint fragrance,
Then I saw your keys and change on the counter top,
Your shoes discarded carelessly underneath a stool.
I knew you were waiting,
A single rose set aslant in a crystal vase,
