The cry goes out, it’s loud and clear
Please have you seen my wallet dear?
I had it yesterday I know
Without it, cash is running low.
I rang the pub and asked them there
Could I have left it in their care?
They hadn’t seen it, what a shame
I only have myself to blame.
I hunt about, look everywhere,
Including places that are rare
Oh! Me Oh! My. What shall I do?
I’ll have to cancel VISA too
It must be here, I’ll hunt again
I looked and looked but all in vain
Until I shook my blankets out
And there it was – without a doubt!
If only he could keep it safe
And put it in its proper place!
