The Hole Truth And Nothing But

I swear to tell the hole truth,
So help me God,
But to tell the truth, the hole truth
Is something truly odd.

A hole is made of nothing
I hope you will agree.
But it’s a nothing that is a something
That you can measure and actually see.

To get a hole you add nothing
But take something away.
You are left with something made of nothing
In a vacuous display.

I think you’ll find the hole universe
Is mostly made of hole.
But they can really be quite filling
With the cheerios in my bowl

So I propose a new element
Holoniumm, to be added to the list.
The stuff that holes are made from
The most common thing in our midst.

It occupies a lot of space
Even though it can’t be found
Until you take a something,
And wrap it right around.

So now it’s time to grab that stuff,
And to this poem bring
With the next line I will wrap it up,
Because I’m done with this hole thing.
