The Wind from Kinabalu
When wind from Kinabalu blows,
crouch rows and rows
of golden grains
across the plains.
Their roots survive with minor wreck
for birds to peck
and hens to scratch,
beneath leaked thatch.
The winds from Kinabalu blows
as flowers doze
and petals heap
and willows weep.
