A Rose from the Concrete
A rose from between the concrete
grows, stilted, scraggy, worn.
Until the first hint of blossom
starts to open. Then the voices
going by, stop, smile, and sometimes laugh.
But are forever changed by a small
red rose growing from the concrete.

"This is a beautiful poem
except the deceased rap-singer Tupac Shakur is the original author of this poem."
Editor
Tupac Shakur wrote an autobiographical poem with a similar
name to the above poem. Tupac's poem is "The Rose
That Grew From Concrete" but that poem is completely
different to Steve's. It's fascinating how common it is
for creative content to be expressed upon similar
themes. Lucky for all the reading public, the
"rose" poems by Tupac Shakur and Stephen Pray are
both beautiful in their own unique ways. Perhaps they
both received inspiration from a former Dr
Who (check out our anecdote).
