I have a new companion
who walks along with me,
we stride along step by step
in perfect harmony.
I smile at other walking sticks,
they smile back at me
there is a rapport among strangers
who share a disability
If by chance I shilly-shally,
deciding to go by tram,
someone kindly helps me up,
"Take my seat, please, Ma'am".
Some oldies I know
Cannot bear the gall
of being seen as tottery,
they'd rather suffer a fall.
When a superior being
says condescendingly,
"Is 'THAT' really necessary?"
"Too right", I say with glee.
